and Muslims:

Not that long ago before the 1990s, Asians were pretty reliably Republican, and until recently were still only slightly more Democratic than whites. This exit poll shows that Asians are 4 times more likely  than whites to favor Democrats, the same as for Hispanics.

Muslims prefer Obama by 10 to 1, which seems to show they consider Barack to be one of their own even if he's been reluctant to run as a friend of Muslims. The most supportive group are the Blacks, which if you compare to the white ratio of just 70%, come out as 23 times more likely to favor Obama.

Only the Israelis favored Romney by more than white Americans, which indicates that Israelis are certainly not convinced of Obama's claims that he is as true and loyal friend of Israel as he is of the Palestineans.

Most liberal religions after Muslims was Jewish and non-Religions, Catholics were about evenly split as I've noted they are pretty close to average American in anything, while Protestants who seem to weigh more the conservative than the liberal ones went for Romney, even they think he belongs to a weird Mormon cult religion, at least it's a conservative one instead of Obama's fake Black Liberation Theology.

Voting Patterns 1992-1994

Now I've tracked down exit polls by race going back to 1992 to see where the shifts are. I have a different way a tracking. First I compute the Democrat/ Republican ratio for each group. Then I divide by the rate for whites, so we have an instant measure of which groups are more likely to favor democrats so that 1.0 would be same as whites, and 2.0 would be twice as much.

What the data shows is that whites have been shifting from an even 1.0 in 1992 to 2/3 favoring Republican this year.

Asians used to favor Republicans, but then were about the same, and flipped for Democrats starting with Gore in 2000, with the latest election 4 times more Democratic than the whites, about as liberal as the Hispanics. I was somehow under the impression that Asians were still pretty close to whites, but that hasn't been the case since 1996.

Hispanics have always favored Democrats, but have grown from 2.5 to 4 times

Blacks historically were 10 times more democratic, but this increased to a factor of 24-30 with Obama

Minorities Increase In Electorate Population

The Pew Research Center released a report A Milestone En Route to a Majority Minority Nation
by Paul Taylor and D’Vera Cohn which predicts that non-white minorities will be a majority by 2050. They are currently 37% of population but 28% of the votes.

Now it common wisdom that minorities don't vote at the same rate as whites, but the reality is that since the civil rights era, not only literacy rates for blacks approached that of whites, but the voting rate is about the same, with white voters only 14% above their population, and blacks 8% above. The TWO groups that vote at 0.5 or 1/2 are the Hispanics and Asians that are largely immigrant, so the major problem there are the large populations of immigrants who are not citizens eligible to vote:

Table: Relative voting rate
Race        voter   pop     ratio   vs white
White       72      63      1.14    1.00

Hispanic    10      17      0.59    0.51
Asian        3       5      0.60    0.53

Romney must win over Asian voters

Asians now lean democratic, but are the only minority group even remotely close to 50-50, and their parents are strongly pro-business even if their college-educated children are largely brainwashed into racial marxism and Obamunism.

Romney must win over Asian voters

by Shawn Steele

If Mitt Romney wants to reach 270 electoral votes, and win the presidency, he must aggressively target Asian-American voters.

Asians -- Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Filipinos, Vietnamese and Koreans -- are the nation's wealthiest, most highly educated and most aspirational voting demographic. Their numbers have grown by more than 40 percent in the last decade, and they are concentrated in key electoral battleground states like Nevada, Michigan, Colorado, Ohio, Florida, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Despite surveys showing Asian-Americans as more favorable toward Obama and government than the general public, their actual voting behavior in recent elections offers Romney an opportunity. Look to 2009, the year Republicans recovered from the Obama blowout and stormed back to retake the governorships of Virginia and New Jersey.

Republican Bob McDonnell targeted Asian-Americans energetically, even though they constitute just 5.9 percent of Virginians. He employed multiple strategies, such as asking Asian business owners to publicly communicate their support by putting McDonnell signs in their storefronts. His campaign communicated with Asian-American voters in their native languages in everything from mailers to radio ads to yard signs. A postelection survey of Asian-American voters in Northern Virginia found that nearly 60 percent voted for McDonnell.

Middlesex, New Jersey's second most populous county, is a perennial Democratic bastion, but in 2009, it went for Chris Christie by 48 percent to 44 percent -- almost precisely his statewide margin. Not coincidentally, Middlesex now has among the highest percentages of Asian-Americans outside of Hawaii and the San Francisco Bay area.

Asian-American voters are not immune to the national backlash against Obama's big government blowout. Their values and attitudes, by and large, hew more closely to the GOP economic policies, emphasizing hard work, parental involvement in education, the permanence of marriage and family unity. They link success to individual achievement rather than government beneficence.

Romney doesn't need to win the Asian-American vote outright. It would be enough to improve substantially on the 35 percent that John McCain won. Given the clusters of Asian-American voters who now reside in battleground states, a serious outreach strategy along the lines of McDonnell's successful gubernatorial campaign illuminates a pathway to victory.

There are hundreds of media outlets in battleground states through which Romney can reach Asian-American voters cheaply in their native languages -- especially to Korean, Vietnamese and Filipino audiences, where pro-Republican sentiment is strongest. The Korean Times, for example, has 13 bureaus in the U.S. and a daily edition circulation larger than the Los Angeles Times.

Nevada, Michigan, Colorado, Ohio, Florida, Virginia and Pennsylvania between them hold 111 of the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency. Obama carried them all in 2008. Romney needs to flip them. Asian-Americans comprise, on average, 3.8 percent of the population of those states, which could exceed the margin in a close election. A relatively modest investment by Team Romney in Asian outreach, out of the tens of millions it will pour into these states, could put him in the White House. And if, as Democratic strategists fear, turnout by Asian-Americans and other minorities falls below 2008 levels, the decline would occur chiefly among Obama supporters, amplifying any inroads that Romney makes.

The stakes for the future of liberty and limited government are simply too high for the Romney campaign to leave any stone unturned in the search for voters. By dedicating real resources to a sustained, strategic campaign of messaging and get-out-the-vote aimed at Asian-American voters, Romney will not only win the White House, but also lay the foundation for a new Republican majority with the fast-growing Asian voting population as a key pillar.

Europeans, not Asians Dominate Most Educated Nations in the World

from http://finance.yahoo.com/news/the-10-most-educated-countries-in-the-world.html

The 10 Most Educated Countries in the World

The countries with the most highly educated citizens are also some of the wealthiest in the world. The United States, Japan and Canada are on our list and also have among the largest GDPs. Norway and Australia, also featured, have the second and sixth-highest GDPs per capita, respectively. All these countries aggressively invest in education.

now skipping to the conclusions:
My notes; One middle east - Israel
Two Asian - Japan #2, Korea #6
All 7 others European dominated, not counting Israel
US is now #4, just behind Japan despite complaints that not enough Americans are going to college.

This doesn't show that Asians,  Jews and LGBT are the highest educated groups within the US with about 50% with 4 year degrees, not just some college, but those rates aren't true of their respective Asian nations. 30 years ago America had a much higher college rate than Japan.

This also doesn't factor in the % of students in most countries that graduate in 10th grade, in the US, that's considered a "drop out", but normal for skilled trades in most other nations.

NYT: Black Segregation Declining, Still Greater than Asian or Hispanic

January 30, 2012
Segregation Curtailed in U.S. Cities, Study Finds
By SAM ROBERTS
More than 40 years after the federal government enacted fair-housing legislation and the Great Migration of blacks from the South began to ebb, residential segregation in metropolitan America has been significantly curtailed, according to a study released Monday.
The study of census results from thousands of neighborhoods by two economics professors who are fellows at the Manhattan Institute, a conservative research organization, found that the nation's cities are more racially integrated than at any time since 1910; that all-white enclaves "are effectively extinct"; and that while black urban ghettos still exist, they are shriveling

Seattle African Immigrants Outscore American Blacks, Biggest Shock Asians?

Seattle study finds that when students are broken down by language, immigrants from Africa from places like Somalia outscore African American native english speakers, even in English, though they still fall short of whites. If a group of Africans scores higher than natives, I would call that encouraging, not alarming as it proves "institutional racism" evidently doesn't doom all black students equally. Amharic, spoken by Ethiopians did the best of the African groups, 62% pass, not too far from 70% district average which throws in whites and Asians. One problem is that we should spend less time comparing groups with disparate history economics and cultural and economic capital, it's like trying to berate one kid for not achieving what his brother did. Everybody's job is to do as well as they can, not prove who can make mom the happiest of her children. Even Asian kids would go up the wall even more than they do now if Asian parents expected them to do EVERYTHING better than white kids. (oh no, I fear that's the next generation of Asian parents...)

Here is the full pdf http://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/272355/seattle-public-schools-disaggregated-student.pdf

Here's one summary from http://saveseattleschools.blogspot.com/2011/12/gap-in-black-student-outcomes.html
In short, immigrant Black students out-perform African-American students on state tests. 62% of black students who come from homes where Amharic is spoken passed the state math tests while the pass rate for black students from English-speaking homes was only 36%. Even in the Reading tests, those who come from a home where Amharic is spoken passed at a 74% rate while those from English-speaking homes passed at a 56% rate.

Just an FYI, Amharic is the language of Ethiopian people, not Somali people.

Just because they have similar complexions? What else do these folks have in common?

I have been working with immigrant populations in SPS & these score differences don't surprise me at all.

Interestingly, they omit Asian languages, as I've noted the SAT breakdowns show Asians who speak English as a first language don't score a high in math as immigrants (though their english is better and their combined scores is higher than any race / language group). But nobody thinks that's a shocking indictment of American racism, and I still can't believe how many people say American schools are awful when there are parents in Asia who sacrifice their lives to get their kids into an American school where they have a chance to get into a  college they might not have in Asia, never mind Hispanics don't have any problem with the quality of schools here compared to Latin America.

Nobody noticed my 90s study which found that Seattle whites broken out score higher than any district except for Mercer Island, so there is not such thing as a "standard" white population. Seattle's whites score much higher than whites in most suburbs, even the Gypsy population that was tracked back then - they scored the same as other whites. Blacks scored about the same as suburbs, while Asians were the only group that score worse than in the suburbs. I've found that though blacks lag whites, they are not far below the national average and ahead of blacks in most other cities.

It's also important to note that Asians do range from at worst, slightly worse than whites no matter how spectacularly bad a city district performs up to the pattern I found in Seattle that Renton Asians scored as well as whites in Bellevue, Asian in Bellevue scored as well as whites in Mercer Island, and Asians in Mercer Island scored as well as whites in the best private schools, generally one notch up the scale compared to whites. I know Asian families whose parents have no high school diploma who work their way up into owning restaurants and rental houses who send all their kids to the University of Washington, which my family hasn't done with 2 college degrees. (OK, we've got one at the UW and one at private Seattle U)

see 'Alarming' new test-score gap discovered in Seattle schools
For the first time, Seattle Public Schools officials have broken down test scores by specific home language. The recently announced results revealed a surprising trend that may have implications for policy around the district.
Highlights:

African-American students whose primary language is English perform significantly worse in math and reading than black students who speak another language at home — typically immigrants or refugees — according to new numbers released by Seattle Public Schools.
....Michael Tolley, an executive director overseeing Southeast Seattle schools, said at the meeting that the data exposed a new achievement gap that is "extremely, extremely alarming."
Traditional factors in low performance, such as poverty and single-parent homes, are generally shared by black immigrants and nonimmigrants alike.
...The results, although preliminary, were eye-opening:
• Only 36 percent of black students who speak English at home passed their grade's math test, while 47 percent of Somali-speaking students passed. Other black ethnic groups did even better, although still lower than the district average of 70 percent.
• In reading, 56 percent of black students who speak English passed, while 67 percent of Somali-speaking students passed. Again, other black ethnic groups did better, though still lower than the district average of 78 percent.
...Most of all, Teoh said, because the English-speaking category includes students of many black ethnic groups, it's impossible to compare specific ethnic groups.
...Pamela Bennett, a sociologist at Johns Hopkins University, agreed. She conducted a study in 2009 that found that immigrant black high-school graduates attend college at a much higher rate than black or white students born in the U.S. The reason was that the immigrants had a higher socioeconomic background, she said.
...Seattle School Board member Betty Patu, who has worked for decades with community groups serving students of color, said she has noticed that all immigrant families, regardless of socioeconomic status, place high value on education.

Racial expectations?
...McLaren, a former teacher, believes that black students whose families have been in the U.S. for generations often perform poorly because schools and general societal structures have imposed a culture of low expectations on them dating back to the days of slavery.
...Rita Green, vice president of the Rainier Beach PTSA, said teachers don't push black students as hard as immigrant students.
..Several studies have shown that teachers' feelings about how students will perform impact how the students actually perform.
