Many of you have written to me and asked me to review the video of Josh Powell. The police have named him a person of interest in the disappearance of his wife, Susan, and they say he has not been cooperative with them. I think most people see that Josh's behavior is definitely abnormal and I do not disagree. Josh, if you want my opinion, knows more than he is telling us. He couldn't look more like a deer caught in headlights than he does here in this interview. He is constantly thinking before he speaks, doesn't answer questions directly, and he shows little to no concern for his wife at all.
Here are my thoughts when I watch the video:....

How to Bury a Bear, Mormons Killed My Mother, They found Her in Desert, Notes

New documents unsealed in Susan Powell case | HLNtv.com
The sons of Josh and Susan Powell may have made several potentially troubling references to what happened to their mother in the months before their deaths, ...
www.hlntv.com/.../documents-sons-made-references-susan-po...

... Charlie reportedly said, “The Mormons killed my brother and my mom.” He later told a counselor he wanted to kill one of his classmates because the boy was Mormon.
Documents released in February showed that social services officials were concerned that the boys may begin echoing Josh Powell’s thoughts and statements, like his paranoia about Mormons and his fears that the “Mormon police” might come after him.
{Also they made anti-Jewish statements in the psych report, not reported by press yet}

A foster parent wrote on another occasion that Charlie “talked about in a graveyard, and ‘of course they are going to find bones there.’ Then he said, ‘I’m talking about Susan.’”
...

“Charles explained to two staff members/witnesses the best way to kill a bear. Charles said, ‘You dig a hole, put the bear in the hole, throw rocks on the bear, cover the hole, then you plant a tree so no one will know where you buried the bear. Then you plant raspberry bushes over the bear because it makes the best tasting raspberries.’” When asked where he learned that information, Charlie reportedly responded, “Uhhhh, on TV.” Witnesses speculated that he might have been referring to his mother.

... Josh became upset whenBraden made a comment that “They found mommy in the desert.”
... several handwritten notes that Josh Powell sent to the boys after they were taken from him in October, 2011. In retrospect, some of his messages seem somewhat ominous.
“I sure miss you. I was thinking of ways to stay close to you boys … Everything I do is for you. I love you and I’m working hard to see you more,” Powell wrote.

New legal battle over Josh Powell's life insurance
Salt Lake Tribune
By brooke adams Nine days after Josh Powell killed himself and his two sons in a horrific fire at his rented home in Washington state, two of his siblings filed claims on insurance policies worth $1.5 million — a move that has now led the insurer to ...

An attorney for New York Life Insurance Co. also wants the Western Washington court to decide what should happen with a $1 million policy for Susan Powell, Josh Powell’s missing wife. The attorney also wants to know whether changes Powell made to his policy in late 2011 — naming his siblings and father as beneficiaries rather than a trust overseen in part by his father-in-law — are valid.
Given the number and timing of changes that occurred shortly before Powell carried out the murder/suicide, "New York Life also has concerns regarding Joshua Powell’s competency at the time the beneficiary changes were made," the court filing states. It also says "doubtful questions" exist regarding payments being made to a "slayer’s siblings and/or father."

WVC Police bungled the Susan Powell mystery

Salt Lake City Weekly By Rebecca Walsh Chuck and Judy Cox have been giving West Valley City Police the benefit of the doubt for two years.

http://www.cityweekly.net/utah/article-436-15582-this-article-is-horrible-yes-the-wvcpd-bungle.html

that’s about to change.
“I am thoroughly disgusted with West Valley City Police,” says Steve Downing, the Coxes’ attorney. “They’ve been so concerned about crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s, they’ve allowed two little boys to be murdered.”
...

From the moment Susan Powell disappeared Dec. 9, 2009, and officers found her purse still in the family home, with fans furiously whirring over a wet carpet patch, the police have tiptoed around the case.
At first, an abundance of caution seemed wise. Josh Powell returned from his campout and was spectacularly unhelpful. He was unusually dry-eyed and wooden. He refused to talk to police. A few months later, he packed up his kids and retreated to his father’s house in Washington.
The case only became more surreal as Steve and Josh Powell launched a character assassination. The father-in-law implied he and Susan had a sexual connection. The son threatened to release his wife’s teenage diaries to prove her promiscuity.
...

Downing believes the latest scene in this family tragedy could have been avoided if the police had simply acted on the “incredibly good circumstantial evidence” they had against Josh Powell. If they couldn’t make the case for murder, the attorney says, at least they could have made the case for taking the boys away from their father.
Instead, he says, the police bungled every step. An employee of the Comfort Inn hotel in Sandy saw Josh Powell and his boys the morning Susan Cox Powell was reported missing. She called a city tip line, but detectives didn’t get back to her until two years later.
There’s more, Downing says—the $500,000 life-insurance policy Josh took out on Susan, Josh talking to acquaintances about how to dispose of a body, various reports from neighbors of suspicious activity the night of the camping trip.
But most damning is that simulated porn. It was found on computers taken from the Powells’ West Valley City home two years ago. Why did it take police so long to mention it? That alone could have been enough to challenge Josh Powell’s custody, Downing says.
