The Flowers Cried in Texas: Saving the FLDS Children
In 2008-2009 based on a couple of Asian Week columns, I started taking notes and writing a book about the 2008 Battle of the YFZ Ranch Children where the state of Texas nearly succeeded in saving / seizing every child of a community suspected of massive child abuse. In the past year, it looks like they largely succeeded in sinking the community and proving that their leader did some truly shocking things. But there is another side of this story, of the collateral damage done to families that perhaps weren't 100% 24 hour a day evil as the media portryed it.
