DIXON TROUNCES INCUMBENT FOR WATER DISTRICT
Wow, Dixon did spectacularly for a guy who probably did well by not honking the GOP horn, he and Dawn McCready held the line in an area that leans about as far democratic as nearby King County, which shows nice guys CAN win in a partisan climate.
x Michael (Mike) Dixon
I like Dixon because he's an overachieving African American with 2 MIT degrees (like me) and Army veteran who has run a big business unit, and called him and verified he is a cool guy, he's blogged on TownHall and written some terrific stuff, as nice a conservative as anybody is likely to meet, if you're republican, that's what he is, if you're not, he's still a cool guy who is super competent.

Larry D. Jones - Seems like the competent incumbent, nothing wrong with that
Brian Travis - he's in Hotel management, I looked up his previous run for office, and he prefers Republican, so if you want to encourage more Republicans to run and participate in government, give this guy your vote.

Bothell Annexation:
A proposal to increase the size of Bothell by 22,000 people was failing in election returns Tuesday.
The measure to annex 5.6 square miles of unincorporated Snohomish County to the city trailed 2,044 to 1,878, or roughly 52 to 48 percent.
The proposal would have added land historically associated with Brier, Lynnwood, Maltby and Alderwood Manor. If approved, the annexation would likely take effect in late 2012 or early 2013. It needs only a simple majority to pass.

Most of the organized opposition to joining the city has come from the fire service, and from Snohomish County Fire District 1 in particular. The district's Board of Commissioners passed a resolution in October opposing the annexation.
