New fusion looks like cross between overgrown Focus and Aston Martin, drops Mazda platform in favor of Mondeo euro-spec. Last mondeo=contour was a disappointment, maybe this time will work. Volvo-based full sized cars Ford 500/new taurus haven't sold as well as plain Impalas either.

  Make it an AWD with good ground clearance, a 3-door hatchback, and 40mpg, and I'm interested. I split my time between the boonies where the roads are not always smooth and the snow is not cleared, and the city where it's stop-and-go driving in heavy traffic, so a hybrid version would be good too.
