Rhapsody is experiencing significant growth in subscribers, expanding internationally, and is always looking to bring in top talent. We have start-up feel with the security of a strong revenue stream. With more than a million paying subscribers and over 14 million songs, Rhapsody is leading the digital music service revolution in the US (and soon globally).  We make it possible for fans to listen to any song, anytime and anywhere.

We are looking for someone who loves Android and Java and wants to gain some real-world experience. The ideal internship candidate will be enrolled in a computer science degree program.

A little about our Android team...

Not only do we have a great work-life balance but we set our folks up to work effectively on programs they love. For example, to maintain productivity, we banned afternoon meetings. Thursdays we have no meetings and work from home (in other words, we get to code to our hearts’ content). As a small and nimble team, everyone is empowered to shape our product. We are collaborative, Agile, and we eat, sleep, and breathe Android. If you’re tired of being burned-out and you can code like Bill Nye can science, then you need to talk to us.

You will accomplish these things in your internship:
  • Gain real-world experience in a professional software development environment
  • Work with and learn from senior software development engineers
  • Help develop software used and enjoyed by millions of people
  • Participate in code design and review
  • Write documentation for technical architecture/features
  • Work with test engineers to identify and fix defects
  • Work with test engineers to write test cases and assist in automation
We need you to have this:
  • Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or a related field
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A resourceful and highly motivated attitude (no downers please).
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude and passion for music
Rhapsody offers a highly collaborative, hardworking, open environment where you’ll work alongside extremely creative and dedicated people.  The company is headquartered in Seattle, with offices in San Francisco and New York.  We are proud to offer our full time employees an extensive benefits package including generous paid time off, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), telecommuting, subsidized commuting options and more.
