We finally hear from Susan's own voice which as been missing in this story. She yearns for the fun, loving guy she married who has evolved into a cold, self-absorbed monster that has driven her into counseling and considering divorce. She thinks he can change, but we know how it ends up. The Salt Lake Tribune got copies of the e-mails from a friend of her, one of many she sent e-mails to it seems everybody but Josh himself. They got them just days after Susan was killed, but waited until now because it was requested they not release it yet in fear it would interfere with the investigation, and invade privacy. This serves as a diary, and I hope that more people get to see this and her diary as a cautionary tale to women and men to look out for danger signs

Josh Powell will have no trial on this Earth. Susan’s family suspects [Steven Powell] may have been involved in her disappearance, or know something about it. But he has not been charged or even named as a person of interest in that case. As long as these records remain closed, the only people being protected are West Valley City officials who might be embarrassed by information that would — admittedly in hindsight — portray them in a bad light. And that is not the kind of information the law is intended to protect.

Steven Powell went midnight camping with the boys and Susan?
This granddad and father in law is even more unbelievable. There were blogger comments wondering if Steve was lurking around, or met Josh halfway, this only confirms authorities need to look at Steve, the only man likely to know for sure what happened to Susan. And Utah authorities need to stop protecting Josh and Steve for whatever reason they have used every method have at their disposal to keep any evidence of Josh and Steve's guilt locked away from the public. This should have been treated as a murder, and the connection to Steve investigated from day one, not covered up until 2012 and still refusing to treat it as a murder case with obvious suspects.
