Just heard these guys on Spirit 105.3 in Seattle, it's from a viral video of a college men's group. Hilarious. They have an EP advertised on the video.

I bought this song last Christmas after hearing it on Pandora. It is a very well arranged medley of Christmas (and pop) songs, all woven together around The 12 Days of Christmas as a unifying theme. My kids thought that it was hilarious, and they're even too young to get a lot of the jokes (ages 6,4, and 2). In addition to being clever and funny, it is really up-beat and catchy. As recently as last week I found myself singing part of it to myself (in July). I listened to some of the other songs on the album, but none of them seemed to be quite as good. If you feel like your holiday playlist is a little stale, this is definitely a great song to add some freshness and variety.

When I first heard 12 Days, by Straight, No Chaser I had to write to who ever was in charge to tell them how wonderfully witty and remarkable this piece of music was! I got to correspond with one of the founding members and learned first hand how nice these guys are! Their music cannot be beat!!!

Apparently coming from a somewhat obscure YouTube video, Straight No Chaser gives a quirky take on the beloved classic for the first minute and a half, and a '12 Days' take on the Toto's "Africa" the second half. It's random, it's a novelty all the way, but most of all it's fun. It's fun to hear them randomly break into different Christmas songs, while still coming back to '12 Days'. And with the added element of the Acapella vocals, it separates itself even more because every one of the ten members has a great voice.
Overall, these guys are a great story, and they have this fun song to thank for it. A classic Christmas novelty for years to come; try it, and you're guaranteed a genuine Christmas smile.
