Position Description


This analyst position will be a leader for a new generation of tablet and smart phone products. It is part of an initiative focused on applying mobile devices including tablets and smartphones to commercial aviation and transforming the way that Boeing delivers products, services and information. Mobile is a new arena for aviation and is an exciting, dynamic and fast moving challenge and opportunity. Products and services are delivered to Boeing customers, maintenance service providers, regulatory agencies, and internal support teams providing access to technical and non-technical information through research, collaboration, and procurement tools essential to operating and maintaining Boeing aircraft.

This position will be responsible for a variety of analysis assignments and decisions spanning several integrated product teams and address a variety of issues such as specific mobile software products, application distribution, customer support, and many other areas. This position will collaborate with application owners and creators early in customer research, application definition and design, maintaining an understanding of the various mobile product concept and development activities. This role will interface with a wide variety of stakeholders including airlines, Boeing product owners, and technology teams, and will collaborate closely with the mobile product and portfolio managers.

Typical Education/Experience


Level 3 - Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study. Level 4 - Technical bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.




Other Job related information


This position requires prior experience as a business or functional analyst, working with business processes and detailed business requirements on software product development. Excellent communication, collaboration and analytical skills required. Requires the ability to interface with application owners, programmers and analysts, application architects, systems analysts, and other technical and support personnel in functional areas in a variety of business disciplines. Requires the ability to identify and establish contact points to share information, promote teaming, and optimize individual and organizational effectiveness with various groups in the CAS business unit. Must effectively participate in accomplishing team goals, give and seek specific constructive feedback, and work effectively with other work groups. Experience working with CAS applications or airline customers is a plus. Understanding of the CAS business units and processes is a plus. Experience with an Agile software development lifecycle is desired.
