This was so cool last year I bought the paper edition at the Fred Meyer. Now the digital edition is FREE though it is harder to read than the paper version.

The latest edition of Defense Media Network’s The Year in Special Operations offers a comprehensive assessment of all major SOF developments for the last 12 months: key interviews include Adm. William H. McRaven, USN – Commander, U.S. Special Operations Command; Brig. Gen. Edward M. Reeder Jr., USA – Commanding General, U.S. Army Special Forces Command and the 1st Special Forces Regiment; and Rear Adm. Sean A. Pybus, USN – Commander, U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command.  We take a look at AFSOC Combat Controllers, get mobile with SEALs during training, receive an update from Maj. Gen. Richard Comer on the CV-22 Osprey, and provide expanded coverage on the many anniversaries the SOF community will be marking this year, including: SOCOM’s 25th, the SEAL Teams 50th, 60 Years of the U.S. Army Special Forces, and the 70th anniversaries of the Marine Raiders and U.S. Army Rangers. We wrap things up with two stories on the 10th anniversary of Operation Enduring Freedom. We look at the Battle of Roberts’ Ridge, and, finally, we sit down with Lt. Gen. David P. Fridovich, USA (Ret.), Lt. Gen. Donald C. Wurster USAF (Ret.), and Col. Fran Beaudette, USA, 1st SFG commander, to talk about OEF and the Philippines 10 years on.
